Have a cool car, Burlington VT. I was disappointed with the lack of automotive variety in Canada. The only that I saw that I don’t think could be had in the US was a newer looking deisel Defender

I’m going back to Spain and Ireland in a few weeks, and as much as I love both places, I know I’m going to spend almost the entire trip disappointed by boring cars.

You should come back up to Burlington in the spring. There are tons of cool cars which go into hiding for the winter.

But there are Defenders (all manual and diesel)!
The Spanish have Santanas too so you can spot the differences between them and Defenders.
Lots of silver, grey and black Golfs, Focuseses, Renault Clios and the like though.

Actually, though. I’m in Ireland for ten days and have no plans except for a few days in Dublin and making my way to Galway. I didn’t really plan to be in Ireland, but I had a layover in Dublin, so I thought I may as well take some time there since hotels are cheap. I’m about 60-40 decided between just going to southern towns and northern towns. So any suggestions are welcome.

Not a great time for trips to the countryside, because it’s quite likely to be wet (even though October has been unusually dry!) and winter time has just started so it’ll be dark before six. You’d probably be better off sticking to urban areas because there’ll be more weather-independent things to do.
There’s a Top Twenty attractions (free and otherwise)

That’s what I figured. Last time I was in Ireland was December and the weather was already miserable. I’ve pretty much resigned myself to spending most of my vacation in bars, which is fine by me.
